Noah's been taking the Lord's name in vain on and off for the last several weeks. We've tried numerous ways/consequences to teach him that we don't take the Lord's name in vain and why. Scott heard him saying it several times yesterday morning, so today after church we sat him down to talk with him about it. We decided to have Noah research why he shouldn't do this. Scott typed some questions for Noah to answer. This is what we found:
I. Why do we have commandments? To keep us from getting into trouble.
II. What do the commandments say about taking the Lord’s name in vain?
Thou shalt not take the name of the lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
III.
IV. Why is this a commandment? See #I.
V. What is Noah going to do differently to obey this commandment? Never think about saying it/forget it.
VI. What will happen next time Noah breaks this commandment? Uh, I have a good one. I’ll pick weeds.
