Curry, anyone?

Scott has to go to India for business. He went about 1 1/2 years ago and he's going again. (The pics are from his previous trip). This time, I get to go, too! And many, many thanks to those who have agreed to help take care of my precious ones while we're away b/c you're making it possible for me to be able to go!

It's exciting and a bit scary to me, but more exciting. We weren't able to go on a trip to celebrate our 15th anniversary last year due to my health, so we're going to make up for it this year!

If you have any requests of things I may be able to bring back for you, lemme know!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I'm kinda yelling a bit. My sweet Nathan talks INCESSANTLY. From the time he wakes up until he goes to sleep. I do love his cute little voice and the interesting things he has to say. He cracks me up most of the time. But lately, this is what I hear: mom.mom.mom.mom.mom.mom.mom.mom. or why?why?why?why?why?why? Yes, yes, I know he's 3 and he is curious, but after hearing this 100 times in 5 minutes I think my ears may bleed. So here's a conversation from today (we had plans to go swimming with all our cousins and one family couldn't come. Nathan hears me talking on the phone):
"Mom...Mom...Mom...Mom...Mom... Who you talking to?"
I say, "Aunt Christy".
"Why? (pause) Mom, why? (pause) Mom, why you talk Aunt Christy?"
"They can't come to the pool today."
"Why? Why they can't come to pool? Why?"
"Corben's sick. He's not feeling good today.
"Why? Why is Corben sick? (pause) Why, Mom? Why is Corben sick? Tell me mom. Tell me why is Corben sick"
(I'm now taking some deep breaths)
"He has a fever, bud. Maybe his belly and head hurt."
"Why his head hurt? Tell me, Mom. Tell me."
(this is Erin desperate for this conversation to end)
"Uh, because he has black hair".
Nathan thinks about this and then says, "Oh".
END OF CONVERSATION

Now this wouldn't be so bad if it only happened once in a while, but this happens SEVERAL times a day. (Breathe in.....breathe out)

Breaking Dawn and Gas

Ok, so it's NOT what you think! No, no, I don't need to take a Beano while reading the last book in the Twilight series...geez......

I finished Breaking Dawn last night and really liked it! I read some reviews and saw that many, many people hated it! Hmmmm......not me! Although, the name Renesmee??? I mean, ICK. I've thoroughly enjoyed reading the Twilight series and appreciate my SIL, Heather, and good friend, Meg, for tempting me to read them! :-) I'm just sad it's over.

Now, for the gas......I actually filled up my car today for under $50! Woohoo! Found gas for $3.50 (isn't it sad that I'm excited to find gas that's not $4?!?) and filled up!

Also, another shout-out to my hubby who has totally hooked me up with a brand new 22in. flat-screen monitor! It is soooo clear and makes scrapbooking that much easier! Love you, honey! Mean it!

The Olympics

Is anyone else losing sleep from watching the Olympics??? I just LOVE the Olympics! It amazes me how into it I get. I was watching the men's swimming relay the other night and cheering OUT LOUD for them! I just get all patriotic! USA!! USA!! USA!!
Even Noah loves it! He says, "Mom, do I have to go to bed? Can't I just stay up and watch the Olympics with you?"

Here, there, and everywhere

Whew! What a whirlwind it's been since Noah's started back to school! The one thing our family has been doing a lot of lately is going to the pool! We didn't go most of the summer b/c Noah's arm was in a cast, so it's like we're trying to cram a summertime's worth of trips into the last couple of weeks the pool is open. Nathan is my fearless fish! He loves to run off the edge into the water or be thrown in the pool. The higher the better! Noah loves throwing water bombs and being chased!

I definitely want to give kudos to my honey! He took a couple of days off of work last week b/c he was just mentally burned out. Usually, when he takes days off for mental breaks it means playing the Xbox or computer games. Not this time! We have a friend who is building a home and Scott spent the day doing electrical work in his home. Scott's been over several times and our friend gave us some really nice 42 in. natural maple wood cabinets (he works for a cabinet company). We put them in our utility room and Scott and our friend, Matt, began installing them about 9pm that night. Thanks, Matt! Friday we installed a curtain rod and curtains and completed the cabinets. They look great and it's nice not to look at all of the laundry stuff now! I do love some organization! That night Scott's brother, Eric and his kids came over to play Rock Band, eat pizza, and play in the pool! It was a FUN night!

I do have to say that the weekend was perfect. We didn't do anything special, but the kids really got along and it was just wonderful being together. We ran errands on Saturday, had lunch, and went to visit our friend (who is building his home) and see the amazing progress they've made! Sunday was great, too! For the first time EVER during church I had to quiet my kids from laughing too much! Usually, I'm quieting them from fighting over crayons, etc., but not today! Me loves a good weekend!

Oops!

Ok, so most of you know that I am not computer literate. So, the last post was my first attempt at including images in a post. I tried to do "just born" pics and then a yearly pic of Noah after that. Most of the pics are in order, except for the baby pic that should be at the top. Sorry....

When did this happen?!?

My sweet Noah turned 7 today. I can't believe it. I don't have an age crisis around my birthday, but I sure do around my kids' birthdays! It just doesn't seem like it's already been 7 years. I read a quote recently that said "The days are long, but the years are short". He's growing up too fast and I need time to slow down.
I interviewed him for his birthday and I'll post that soon. Enjoy and happiest of birthdays to Noah! I love you more than you'll ever know!

Memory Blog

Ok, I'm blog-stealing from my sister-in-law, Christy. I'm a little worried about adding this b/c I think "what if no one posts? I'll look like a loser w/no friends!"
So, please alleviate my worries and post! Mucho thanks-o!

Memory Blog

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.
I think it will be pretty fun to see the responses.
