Christmas morning started around 5:00am. The kids were so tired when they went to bed that we thought they may sleep longer. We heard them downstairs talking excitedly to each other. I was so sad I missed seeing their faces when they saw all of the gifts and what Santa brought them. Nathan quietly comes into our room, taps my arm and whispers, "Mom! Mom! You'll never believe what Santa left me!" I asked him what he got and he starts talking LOUDLY about all of it. Too funny! Then he and Noah ran downstairs and brought up some of their gifts to show us. Thankfully, they went back downstairs to begin putting Lego sets together and Scott and I slept for another 2 hours.
We hosted my family for Christmas and they came later that morning. After opening stockings, the madness began! My dad has gotten me and my sisters a personalized ornament every year since Scott and I got married. Megan's ornaments have always said "Megan and TBD" because she isn't married yet. THIS year my dad actually put Dan's name ON her ornament, too! Aren't they super cute?

Nathan has been wanting a pillow pet since the summer. I thought it was a fad that he'd forget about, but he didn't! Thankfully, Santa brought him one! He loves it and has it with him most of the time when he's in the house. He named it Rudolph because it has a red nose and he got it for Christmas.
My hubby's gift was one of the things I was most looking forward to Christmas morning. I made a decision the beginning of November about what I was going to get for him. It's something he's wanted for a looooooooong time. I researched and talked with knowledgeable people about their opinions. I shopped for a good price. I acted as if I thought the idea of him having this gift was ridiculous. That it was an expensive "want" and not a "need". That there were other things we could do with that money. I told no one what I was doing...until a week or so before Christmas. I called my mom and asked if she would put this gift on her credit card b/c I didn't want Scott to see it on ours. She let me have it shipped to her home and then brought it to me. I played that this big gift was something for the boys from my parents. I saved it for last.
I love that he loves it and I love that after knowing each other for 24 years and being married for 18 of those years that I can still surprise him!
