Firestation Field Trip

Last Monday, Nathan's pre-school class took a field trip to the fire station! Here he is holding hands with his buddy, Virginia.

The firefighters were amazing! They explained so many things to the kids about fire safety and what to do "in case..." on their level. One of the firefighters put most of his gear on and talked about the purpose of each piece. He then put on his hood, air mask, hat and gloves. He turned on the air tank so the kids could hear the noises it made and showed them what a firefighter looks like with all his gear, so if they came to help them, the kids wouldn't be scared. I was listening and watching these brave men talk to these sweet kids and felt pretty emotional thinking about how they train, what they are prepared to do and the risks they take every day to keep all of us safe.

Nathan's in the front with the backwards blue ball cap.

I'm sad I couldn't get a decent shot of Nathan in the firetruck...you can see his little face poking out at the end.

Nathan and his buddy, Alex.
My heart just melts when I see the American flag.

Noah was tracked out, so he got to come along with us!
