Girls Weekend

Ahhhhh....the weekend I look so forward to every year....Girls Beach Weekend! I have a fantastic group of girlfriends (we call ourselves the "Dancing Queens" and yes, we LOVE ABBA!) and we have done an annual trip to the beach for 8 years now! Two queens were not able to come this year and we missed them.

We stayed in Carolina Beach this year and were afraid we might not be able to go. Our state had torrential rain for several days and parts of Carolina Beach were closed. My mom works for the state and with the mayor's offices across the state. She called her contact in Carolina Beach, told her where we were staying and she said we'd be just fine coming! Woohoo!

We arrived early Friday afternoon, got settled, and then headed out to get some lunch and groceries. We spent the rest of the afternoon/evening chatting, playing games, chatting, listening to CD's, eating, laughing, laughing, laughing, and then we watched The Proposal.
Saturday morning we all slept in (yea!) and Lynette made us pancakes for breakfast (she does this for us every year!) We made lunch, grabbed our gear and headed to the beach for the day! (didn't I get a great shot of Peggy's hat?!?)

We all got lots of reading done!

We ordered dinner out that night and I brought my chocolate fondue kit along for dessert! We listened to some music, played games, and ate lots of chocolate. Around midnight we decided to watch Hairspray. What could be better??

Sunday morning/early afternoon we all make our way to the kitchen for breakfast. We ate out on the deck and it was just lovely! It was cloudy and much cooler, so we mostly hung out on the deck and inside. We played more games, ate, took naps, read, and then packed up to leave around 6. I always feel SO refreshed after these weekends! Sometimes it's hard to get everything and everyone coordinated to go, but it is always worth it in the end. I am so blessed to have such amazing women in my life!!

We didn't get home until 9:30 that evening, but the next morning I found this on my driveway. Noah wrote me a "Welcome Back" note in chalk. What a wonderful end to wonderful weekend!
